Successful Eastleigh company JPI Warehousing is expanding into larger premises – with help from commercial property specialists Atisreal’s Southampton office. Atisreal acted on behalf of Travis Perkins to secure the deal to JPI Warehousing, the warehousing and distribution firm based at unit 6 on Barton Park Industrial Estate off Eastleigh’s Chickenhall Lane.

JPI will be the new tennants of nearby unit 5a, which has some 30’000 sq ft of space. The move is due to a recent significant increase in turnover and JPI’s managing director John Ings says it should help his company to become even more profitable. He said:

“Our volume of work has increased by around 40 percent in the last 12 months, and we desperately need better facilities and more parking in order to deal with loading and unloading the growing number of containers from our transport. Our current premises have a very small working area, and no yeard at all, so it is great to have somewhere with so much extra space. We have already taken on two extra staff in preparation for the move, and hope to emply another four warehouse operatives and three drivers in the near future.”

JPI has also rented Unit 5 from Travis Perkins currently under license which will be made more paermanent under the new lease as soon as the office has moved into the new premises. JPI currently operates approximately 110’000 sq ft of warehouse space and 90’000 sq ft of enclosed yard space.
